After working on larger canvases, I keep coming back to seedpod paintings. Each one consists of a pair, to be placed side by side, called a diptych. Layers of plaster alternate with dripping, watery paint, in simple designs that suggest seeds drifting in the wind. The form clarifies my intention. If these seedpods only drifted across one canvas, their presence could be mistaken as accidental, but seeing them continue on a second canvas eliminates any doubt. My intention is to hone in on intention itself, towards the essence of creation.
